Derry won the Spirit cup against Port Lairge in Kiltoom.
They started well despite conceding the first point of the game and went into a 0-1 to 0-5 lead. A well worked move by the opposition resulting in a goal brought them back into the match and from then it was point for point with Derry having a 1 point lead at half time.
Waterford then raced out of the blocks in 2nd half and gained a 3 point lead, Derry then started to reel them in with the winner from a free, for a foul off the ball inside the small semi circle, calmly knocked over by Rory O Reilly.
Best on the day were Rory O Reilly, Marty McGuiness and official MOTM Brian Mullan.
